Zonos and Australia Post

Prepay duties and taxes and keep your Australia Post shipments moving.

Destination countries increasingly require duties and taxes to be collected before a postal shipment arrives. The U.S. requires duties prepaid on all postal shipments valued under $800 USD, and the UK, EU, Norway, and other markets have low-value tax regimes (such as UK VAT, IOSS, and VOEC) that must be handled by a registered party.

Australia Post has partnered with Zonos to offer Verified Accounts—a solution for businesses that ship internationally on a regular basis and need automated duty and tax collection, compliant customs data, and consolidated billing.

With a Verified Account:

  • You stay compliant with destination customs and tax authorities

  • You can print Australia Post labels without delays

  • Duties and taxes are calculated, invoiced, and remitted on your behalf

To continue shipping internationally via Australia Post, set up your Verified Account with Zonos.

How it works

  1. Ship through Australia Post as you do today. Your shipment data flows to Zonos automatically.
  2. Zonos calculates the landed cost—duties, taxes, and fees—for each shipment based on the items, destination, and applicable tax regime.
  3. Zonos invoices your account for the amounts owed and remits duties and taxes to the destination authority on your behalf.
  4. Your shipments clear customs under the correct tax registration, without action from you at the border.
